The 4-Hour Sunset Cruise Experience

3:30 PM — Embarkation at Benoa Harbor

Arrive Benoa Harbor (15 minutes from Denpasar Airport, 25 minutes from Seminyak, 35 minutes from Ubud). Welcome cocktail on deck. Captain briefing. Departure within 15 minutes of arrival.

4:00 PM — Sail Past Uluwatu

Sail west along Bali’s southern peninsula past Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua, Padang Padang Beach, and the iconic Uluwatu cliffs. Photography is exceptional — drone shots of the phinisi rounding Uluwatu are the most-shared images from these cruises.

5:30 PM — Anchor at Jimbaran Bay

Anchor in Jimbaran Bay for sunset. Swimming and paddleboarding optional. Light dinner service begins on the upper deck — Indonesian satay, grilled fresh fish, tropical fruit, and cold drinks.

6:15 PM — Sunset

The phinisi anchors with the bow facing west. Sunset is the iconic moment. Crew dims onboard lighting to maximize the visual drama. Bring your camera.

7:00 PM — Return Sail

Return to Benoa Harbor under stars. The phinisi’s seven sails partially deployed, gentle wind, dim deck lighting, the city lights of Kuta-Seminyak visible to the north.

8:00 PM — Disembark Benoa

Disembark at Benoa Harbor. Total cruise time: 4-4.5 hours.

Booking Lead Time

Bali sunset cruises are typically available with 3-7 days notice for standard dates. Holiday weeks (Christmas, New Year, Eid, Chinese New Year, Bali school holidays) may require 14-21 days notice. Last-minute (within 48 hours) sometimes possible — call our concierge for availability.

Year-round availability. Best months for clear sunset: April through October (dry season, sky is mostly cloud-free). Wet season (November-March) sunset can be obscured by clouds 30-40% of evenings. Full moon dates are popular for the post-sunset stargazing experience and book quickly.
